Pizza Brian Museum

The first American museum dedicated to Pizza

Ode to His Majesty the Pizza, the Italian culinary specialty loved and appreciated all over the world. Since 2017 it has been officially recognized as a heritage of humanity and every year innumerable international events are held to celebrate its deliciousness.
This first museum dedicated to pizza was created by the Americans with the aim of spreading the tradition of this product. Pizza Brian Museum was officially opened in 2012 in a historic 19th century building on Frankford Avenue, in the north of Philadelphia and it’s the first exhibition space dedicated to pizza culture.
The different areas of the museum display the largest collection of relics and objects connected to pizza where every visitor can dive into the history of this wonderful product and discover curiosities and secrets behind its preparation. A large space is dedicated to games, clips from famous movies and covers of old records all strictly dedicated to pizza. The idea of this museum comes from the passion of the American artist Brian Dwyer, collector of utensils, recipe books, comics, videos, records and vinyl all dedicated to pizza.
In 2010 the young Dwyer had the intuition to organize an art exhibition dedicated to the world of pizza by inviting friends, acquaintances and other artists to share any object or creation inspired by the theme. Three hundred people participated in the first “Give Pizza Chance” showing the potential of this new type of business. From that day on, Brian Dwyer started to collect all kinds of material dedicated to pizza and in 2011 he entered the Guinness Book of Records.

300 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE FIRST “GIVE PIZZA CHANCE” EVENT

In 2012, together with the Museum, the adjacent pizzeria “Pizza Brain” was opened. After the opening, under the direction of head chef Joe Hunter, the new restaurant established itself as one of the best pizzerias in Philadelphia, receiving numerous local, national and international awards for its creative pizzas.
