
The Northern Selection of EMERGENT PIZZA 2024 held at Villa Terzaghi in Milan on July 4 and 5 featured young pizza makers willing to challenge themselves and bring their creativity to the competition.
On the first day the contestants prepared doughs for the next day and presented the jury with their personal version of a timeless classic: the Pizza Margherita. The last day of competition was all about creativity, each pizza maker presented a pizza with a special topping made to astound and tell their own story.
With the fires out, while waiting for the jury’s verdict, an interesting Talk was held on the theme“Catering and Sustainability: a possible combination?” at which some of the event’s sponsors and guests spoke in addition to the pizza chefs to tell about their vision, best practices and current initiatives.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the prizes up for grabs and to the finalists of Emergente Pizza selezione Nord who go directly to the finals at ALMA.
The winners of the SUSTAINABILITY AWARD are:
- Mara Fabiana Mancosu (Domo Mia – Costa Masnaga, Lecco);
- Alexandra Horghidan (Aunt Pizza – Peschiera del Garda, Verona);
- Daniele Cassese (Varrone Pizza – Milan);
The finalists of EMERGENT PIZZA NORTH SELECTION 2024 are:
- Jurgen Verbofshi (I Bravi Ragazzi Pizzeria – Meda): a bloom of expertly selected herbs to give freshness to the lard;
- Luca Pasca (Sesto Gusto – Turin): presented a pizza with Piedmontese flavors, with tongue, pepperoni cream, green bagnetto and sprouts;
- Arvind Patwa (Pizzeria Shambo – Milan): amazing his mint pizza enriched with zucchini and bacon;
- Davide Franco (Mr. Pizza – Busto Arsizio).
